Huber brothers break El Cap speed record

Alexander and Thomas Huber have broken the speed climbing record for the Nose on El Capitan, Yosemite National Park, USA. They set a time of 2hr 45min 45sec on October 8, 2007 for the 1000m high face, taking three minutes off the previous best time.

Amazing. I am a Yosemite-Mono Lake Paiute, one of the original Native people of Yosemite, and it is amazing that they broke that record. Congrats to them!

Is it true that if they get caught behind a party they stop the clock and rest? I understand that it would be pretty difficult to try it when the route was empty, but having non-clocked resting time must be an advantage, right?
