Yesterday 30th Nov, Edu Marin climbed La Rambla Original, 9a+, in Siurana, Tarragona. One of the hardest routes of the world with Realization, with a confirmed grade of 9a+, Edu repeated after 3 years the second ascent. These days some of the strongest guys were in the area, like Yuji, Chris Sharma or Dani Andrada.... probably the 3rd ascent is coming soon...

Who did the first ascent.... Fred Roughling? I think it may have been a basque climber.

Good to see it get repeated! Can't wait for the race for the third ascent 8)

Ramon(et) Julian climbed it first in 2003, after Alex Huber climbed to the mid-way anchor.
Chris recently got the 3rd ascent... see 8a.nu. The quickness of his ascent on this consensus .15a leads me to think the Mallorca arch is even harder!

La Rambla is beautiful! How many gems like that can there be?

+1 on that confirming the difficult of es pontas. It wasn't even truly his style of route (just because it wasnt his) and it still took him only 20 tries. What does that make you think of es ponta? I can't wait to hear who and when it's 2nd ascent will be. Graham seems a likely contender to me. but thats not the gen. consensus.
