Daniel Griffith, of Stratford, ON, has set a new world record by climbing the seven summits in 187 days.

Griffith's quest began on May 24 on the summit of Mt Everest and was completed on November 27 on the top of Mt Vinson, Antarctica.

Two previous attempts were made on Everest before success in 2006. At 55, Daniel Griffith is the oldest Canadian to have summited Mt. Everest.

I have to agree with the apparent irrelevance of 'illegal'. If you would like to know more, or help out go to: http://revenir-du-nepal.over-blog.org/

The origional article states Griffith actually holds the Guinness world record. I can only assume that Malli Mastan Babu's record was not accepted.
