Caveat: Have not read the whole book as of yet. However, had a wee bit of success this weekend. My goal was to red point a climb I've done on toprope a number of times. It's pumpy, overhung (safe falls!) and even though I'd been good on toprope, I was nervous about leading it. After a warmup, it started pouring rain. Thirty min. later, it was just sprinkling and the rock was drying off but the change in conditions had me spooked. I was even more nervous, fearing failure, falling, disappointment from my husband, etc.. Did some internal conversation, decided to look at it as a learning experience, no matter the result, pumped up my confidence and sent it!
Lots of work to be done but it was a good start.
