Come to Colombia... We have sweet beaches! http://travel.nytimes.com/2007/11/11/travel/11Explorer.html And better mountains! http://travel.nytimes.com/2009/08/02/travel/02explorer.html Climbing wise If you visit Colombia there are 4 places you should consider : 1. Suesca (where it all started in Colombia)... About 400 routes... sport, trad, crack, face, 1 pitch to 4 pitches... beautiful sand stone. 50 minutes away from Bogotá. There is another mainly sport crags nearby Valle de los Halcones (20-30 minutes away). 2. Mesa de los Santos (aka. La Mojarra). Surreal location above a beautiful valley. 150 mainly sport routes, red sandstone... Near Bucaramanga. 3. Machetá - Near Bogotá smaller sport crag. 4. El Cocuy. Alpine climbing. Peaks rising above 16500 feet, allowing for high altitude big walls and mountaineering. Complete info at: http://www.monodedo.com/...bia/dondeescalar.htm SUESCA
MESA DE LOS SANTOS
EL COCUY (RITACUBA NEGRO)
