one thing.. there is a good guidebook about the most beautiful climbs in the dolomites.. it's written by bernardi. The guy has quite a unique perspective on rock quality.. So if you happen to pick up a guidebook from him:
If he sais the rock is good, it's OK,
if he says the rock is OK, it's a little brittle here and there
If he says it's a little brittle here and there, it will break everywhere.
If he says it's brittle, you don't want to go there
edited to add: if you happen to be in the sella region, climb on the sella towers, really good, good protection.. Loved climbing there
