As of Sept. 1, 2011, the main gate is closing at 8:00 pm. The parking lot at the summit is closed at 7:45 pm, so you should be hiking out before 7:30 pm.

As of March 1, the parking lot at the summit is closed at 7:45 pm, though the sign says 7:00, with the park entrance gate closed at 8:00 pm. That is well after dark at the beginning of March.
That allows time to leave by Three Bears Gully or by Jomeokee Trail uphill, with Big Gully short-cut closed to all entry by order of the Superintendent.

As of May 1 this year (instead of June) the summit parking lot does not close until 8:45, with the park entrance gate closed at 9:00 pm.
