You have a lot of climbing in the area around Eugene. Yes some of them will require a bit of a drive but the climbs are worth it depending on what you are looking for. The three books that you can get at REI are writen by Greg Orton under the title of Oregon Rock Climbing and come in three volumes to cover the different areas. The links are for Amazon. Volume 1: Willamete Valley, This area cover the area around Eugene. http://www.amazon.com/Rock-Climbing-Western-Oregon-Willamette/dp/1879415437 Volume 2: Umpqua, This are covers Roseburg http://www.amazon.com/Rock-Climbing-Western-Oregon-UMPQUA/dp/1879415445/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_b Volume 3: Rogue, This are covers Medford and Ashland http://www.amazon.com/Rock-Climbing-Western-Oregon-Rogue/dp/1879415461/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_c Hope this helps.
