Climbing is free, camping is $2/night at Miguels. Food can be $15/day if you eat there or much less if you pick it up in Lexington. Usual grocery store prices apply.

It is also worth noting that there is no climbing within walking distance if you camp at Miguel's or Lago Linda's. Drive times range between about 15 to 30 minutes each way.

Beer at the beer trailer is regular liquor store price, and the Kroger in nearby Stanton (15 minutes each way?) is the only reasonable choice for picking up food if you cook. Buying in Lexington is marginally cheaper if you're going for a rest day anyway.

Edit: I should also mention that climbing really isn't free in the Red. If you're climbing at Muir Valley a donation is strongly recommended. This money goes towards helping Muir maintain trails, help equippers with some bolts, and even give you a warm place to crap.

If you're climbing at the PMRP, a donation is also common practice. This money goes directly to the RRGCC and could be used for future acquisitions of land to climb on and infrastructure maintenance to the PMRP.

Beer trailer crag, you should buy some beer from the namesake retail establishment.

The forest service land is tax supported, so also not 'free' per se.
