All climbing rope has to be certified which means all climbing rope is safe when it leaves the manufacturers. How long it will last is another thing. It depends where you use it, how many big falls you have on it and if you keep it clean.
I can't imagine why anyone would buy a 70m rope and cut it in half . I have been to gyms that span 35 meters. Allamont has a climbing wall that is 33 meters without a roof.
