Note that he was talking only about the climb he did on the mini-cliff immeadiately below the summit of Stony Man (which forms the southern skyline above you when you're at the Little Stony Man cliff). And I agree with him - the rock on the Stony Man wall is quite loose, as evidenced by the big talus slope below it, and this wall is only about 5m tall. So stick to the Little Stony Man cliff, which is 20-25m in height (gets taller from N to S).
Also note that the other 'cliffs' easily seen S of Little Stony Man don't have any decent climbing (I verified this by bushwhacking to them). Disappointing, but at least we haveone crag that's at 1000m and faces into the prevailing wind, which makes it nice during high summer.
