In reply to: I think the person who started the post is going to have to be the one changing the title of the thread, or would a mod have to do it? Muhahaha. Grant, let me know if you want it changed back. I just think we'll see more action of our targeted audience this way. Loran

Sorry to say, I won't be able to make it. My GF says I have "other things that are more important to us that weekend." Evidently 26 hours of driving makes the trip to Rumney a burden. Dan

The gathering sounds like a good time. I'd like to attend. I'll be traveling from Maine so if anyone from my neck of the woods needs a ride let me know.

I just submitted 4 pictures of the camping area so you can have an idea as to the size. When they get approved, I'll post them. Just talked to the owners and they'll be gone until Saturday night, but I'll still be there Friday around 6 pm for those of us who want to start the weekend early. I'll post the directions when I post the pictures. Should be quite a show, them comming back from a buisness trip to see a herd of drunken climbers, some dancing around the campfire, others slacklining (if someone wants to set one up) and the rest just howling at the moon! Alan

Yeah ... I hear they are dangerous!1 Crimpergirl busted an arm just a little while ago. I've read about others getting hurt just looking at the damn thing, but I figured that there are always the daredevils at every gathering and I wanted them to feel at home with the rest of us, how can I say it ... wusses

In reply to: In reply to: Grant, let me know if you want it changed back. I just think we'll see more action of our targeted audience this way. MOD ABUSE! ;) - d. OH.... OH... ouch. I feel so abused and dirty. So what happened here? Jules bailed and Team Grant disbanded, now I see some sort of drunken debauchery being planned for some isolated field. It's almost like escapees from the coffee shop want to get together and make a dome chair  To be honest I haven't logged into RC.com in a week or two and thought RU-4 wasn't going to happen this year. Ideas of a fall visit to the Red had developed. Now I don't know what I'll do. Maybe I will still head to the Red but if I opt for RU-4 and have to sleep in a field then I'll probably be nesh and crawl out of my sleeping bag late when it's warmer. With no cast iron wood stove for heat or cooking, the Darkside Cafe may not be serving as much bacon. :?

Grape set my personal record for the fastest that I ever had met a lady and had her on her back, but for entirely the wrong reasons. I blame Wideguy, who tensioned the aforementioned slackline, and France. I am sure the French were behind it as well.

I'll probably be there in some capacity. like kate unless i get a job that will be too far away i'm down. no slacklining for me thanks.. and i will NOT be on ATC duty.. the only athletic training terms you'll hear me say will be "whoa that's not right (or ...effed up") depending on the severity. oh yea and i may have to snap some pictures if things are backwards, sideways, or severely bleeding :) jake

Change of status for me. I am now a no go. The wife's sister and cousins and aunt and uncle are up Columbus day weekend from North Carolinabamagia or some s--- ass southern states. GRRR!!!!!   last year didnt your wife make you go to the rumney gathering and then you went home early anyway?

Sorry Grant, the De La Vegas won't be at the gathering this year. She will still be gone and I am going to try to get a gathering together at New River Gorge WV for those of us that live in the southeast. You are welcome to join us if you like.... should be a good time. Have a good time all... just doesn't seem right when nobody will be attempting the "deck problem" -DD-
