So how was last weekend in the Bruce? Did some of you meet up? I'm assuming the heat was a little less oppressive than recently.

Another weekend is upon us and after several weekends away, I'm not particularly motivated to head away. I'm actually looking forward to sleeping in at least one of the mornings but still want to climb. That will most likely mean either Milton or a long day up around the Beaver Valley somewhere. I'm totally open to suggestions and even some socializing one evening would be welcome.

So what plans are in the works for this weekend? How about some getting together with either old or new climbing partners?
David, Kelly, Colin, Adam, Agent K, Gilthanass, GeezerG, .......... any other takers!! Call me if you have my number.

Sounds good, the pub after climbing almost like the Peak!! No joke, my last climb before I was deported to London ON was on Higgar Tor...

Don't have your number though, pm or email it if you don't want make it public (never knows who or what's lurking out there in the cyberspace...). What's going on in the Beaver Valley btw?

Cheers

I'll be sporting it tomorrow (sunday) at Nemo. All are invited. Probably be there sometime between 10am and 11am. I'll be the tall lanky guy with brown hair... I'm sure there couldn't possibly be another
Darkside, I'd be happy to give you a call sometime to climb, but alas I lack your number.
Always looking to meet other members of the climbing community. Come one, come all!
Cheers, and hope the sleeping in goes well DS!

Well unfortunately I only saw your post this morning but although myself and Jumpingrock were asking around, apparently we couldn't even find one "tall lanky guy with brown hair... ". We did hear there was an Adam further along the crag but no luck. I'll PM my number but you can also find it on climbers.org if you know where to look.
As for the sleeping in, daylight finally won out despite my turning over a few times and I got up around 9am. Considering I've been getting up at 4am for work lately though, I'd say I got a decent lazy morning

On another totally different topic. This weekend, I bootied a nice (albeit a little beat up) cam at Nemo. In the interest of good Karma I'll return it if the owner claims it by telling me where/when it was lost and what cam it is.

haha, that was me! You were likely speaking to someone in my group. I was over at Ten "D" Nitus at that point.
Glad to hear that you got at least a bit more sleep DS.
Nice job with the booty! I actually heard of someone getting a cam stuck at Nemo recently, but I can't recall if I know who the owner is. I'll ask around a little, but there's a good probability you've got new gear. Whoo hoo!
On another note, I'll be toproping at Rattlesnake or buffalo tomorrow (haven't decided which yet... but i'm thinking perhaps buffalo). I'll be there till about 5:30pm. Anyone interested in saying hello, please feel free to drop by. I may also go to the glen on wednesday. Not confirmed yet, however. Again, all are welcome if the trip is a go. I've got a crash pad.
Cheers!

Toperoping at buffalo or rattlesnake??? are you outta your mind!!? ;-) Geez, I haven't been there since before it was too cold/dark to climb at Nemo or Kelso. Alas to each there own. Unfortunatly I won't be able to make it as I will only be a Milton area climber for the next two weeks, after which I will be a Squamish area climber for a week then an Edmonton area Climber for a year, before becomeing a Calgary area climber for 4 months, followed by becoming a Milton area Climber again for 8 months, followed by a Europe area climber for 4 months, followed by a Calgary area climber for as long as I can... complex? Yep... it'll be awesome!

To be fair, i'm taking my friend out. He happens to be a long time gym rat. He's never been outdoors, and wants some reassurance. He also knows I know a good TR rig when I see one. Although, I have to say I have a special place for Rattlesnake and buffalo. Lots of quality climbs there, particularly on trad. And I'd have to say that much of it is polished no worse than a number of the sport climbs at Nemo (think Alfred Gully area.. whoo boy!)
Wow, jumpingrock, i'm jealous! very nice! Have some great travels!

Yah know....I rather like a lot of the climbs at Buffalo. Lots of moderate (okay, easy) stuff to get on at either far ends of the cliff. Sure, some of its polished, and it can be hard to get on the stuff on the weekends through the mass of top roppers, but I'd imagine heading there on a weeknight you'd have the place to your self.

My lawyer is positive, 41.7% of this booty is mine. I would suggest an extracourt agreement

Saturday I'm afraid I won't be out climbing, but sunday I"ll be at the Niagara Glen (weather permitting) if anyone has a crash pad and wants to meet up.
Monday morn/afternoon I'll likely be at Rattlensnake or Buffalo.
Tradrenn: I'm unemployed as of Wednesday, so I'm wide open anytime at this point. Gimme a holla this week, and we'll make it happen. Thurs sounds just fine :D

Hey,
'Bout time we all got acquainted (?spelling?)...
I live in london, but when I do get out climbing, it's usually in Milton.
Trad up to 5.7...
follow 5.10ish,
sport....dick all, but I have draws...
I have a rack and ropes and a car, just NO PARTNER... or at least no regular parter... climbed a few times w/yay_chris....
Anyways...

I'm pondering hitting up Kelso after work tommorow (~5pm).
Anybody interested?
Feel free to Email marc.goulet@cami.ca
I think i'm gonna start keeping my gear in my car so I can go on some random after-work climbing trips.

cheers!

-Marc-

It's Friday night and while I haven't been following the thread in a little while, it seems some people have made an effort to get out. Nice to see.

Anyway I am expecting to be at Nemo tomorrow around the north end with a couple of friends if anyone wishes to join me. I'll be meeting in the parking lot for 9:30am -ish then off to climb mostly trad. I'll also have my phone with me if you have the number.

Not sure what will happen Sunday but if the weather cooperates then heading to Devils Glen, Youngs Crag or another crag in that area sounds good. Drop me an e-mail for further details because I might not get a PM right away.

There are a couple of anchors I will be checking out at Nemo tomorrow after work (Thursday afternoon). I will be installing a new hanger on the route "Lost in the Forest". It will then need 24hrs before use hence the midweek maintenance ready for the weekend sends. I will be tying some form of notice to the first bolt to indicate the routes temporary closure and hopefully anyone who would have liked to try the route will understand.

Afterwards I would be interested in some climbing if anyone wanted to join me. I will likely be nearby the Alfred Gulley ready to climb around 5pm-ish.
Anyone need a belay?

I have a car and lots of free time and will do road trips as well. I climb 5.10 something, sorry I use the European scale as Ive been living in Germany and climb in the Alps. Sport gear I have, I left the trad in Munich. Hit me back ASAP. Peace. Chris

Darkside,
thanks for dealing with the missing anchor. If it hasn't been said yet, it's much appreciated. By the by, I have heard murmurs of a spinning anchor on 'Live Bait'. Can't confirm that one for sure, since it's been a few months since I've been on it, but I thought I'd let you know.

Verticaldude,
I'll be in the Gunks till Sept. 5th (I'm leaving in about 2 hours), but I'd be more than happy to go out climbing any time after that.

Adam
