In reply to: In reply to: In reply to: Two words: High tops It's about time that retro styling came to the climbing world. There's a whole generation out there who have never even seen boot-style climbing shoes, let alone worn them. Full protection for your ankle bones from rock abrasion! Pretty soon, we can have local bouldering areas full of old-school new-schoolers, decked out in headbands, tank tops, and maybe eventually spandex. Fashion in climbing just moves forward all the time, so I think we're due for a little homage to the folks that really pushed the limits 25-30 years ago. You could call these shoes the T2 or T3 or something. I propose Gladiator-style knee-highs. Don't know about you, but my shinbones are permanently bashed-up. Probably we would need a somewhat lighter construction for the calf side of the leg... http://www.dracinabox.com/malesmeg.jpg  ow f--- thats funny , haha james: pls this picture realy no good.

Hello, I designed the red and black shoes. As Conrad has posted I suggested "Omen" as the name to go along the theme of "Fortunate Man." However, I am really fond of the name "The Liger." The Liger is basically my favorite animal. I think the whole FM tech shoe line should have some continuity to the names... there could be the "The Liger" the "The Panther" the "The Bobcat" etc.. so yes, I approve of the name "The Liger" for the red and black ones. -Moggs PS: Pinky, what kind of shoe would you be looking for that is pink? I could maybe draw something up.. How do you feel about polka-dots...?

Haha! Polka dots~ Sounds retro. I'd love it if more companies would come out with "girly shoes"; feminine colors, etc. I'm not looking for a fancy shoe, I like the good old lace-ups. I wish I had a hand at designing these- then I could finally come up with a shoe that doesn't dig apart the backs of my feet (the heel). Crrazy hot pink and black is the way to go. :o Heck, other cool designs might be, like you said, polka dots, wierd tribal designs, interesting zig-zags... it could be a whole new line of shoe design. Who cares about visual impact? These would be sweet to look at. :o

When I was a youngster, I had a pair of bowling shoes, similar to these, that I had swiped(yes, i was juvenile delinquent). This was back in the punk rock era, and these shoes, along with my riding johdpurs, and a Boris and Natashia sweatshirt, made quite the fashion statement..... Anyway - retro is cool these days, so why not make shoes with coloration based on the old bowling shoe? I don't know how to make the link work, but here it is, for your clicking pleasure.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7205178425&category=20850#ebayphotohosting It doesn't have to be red and blue. Nice brown and tan, with the black rubber instead of leather, and black laces. Also, contrast stitching - matching the lighter color leather..that would be nice. Other color combo would be Olive Green and Light Tan, or Light Tan and Cream (those would look great once all dirty!)

In reply to: Here are my shoes (Dolomites). They are starting to get beat up pretty bad (the leather has torn and the cloth part has ripped on the left shoe otherwise I would just resole them again), but I have had them for around 15 years and I really, really like them. They are my comfortable all day shoes. http://members.armourarchive.org/sasuke/shoe1.jpg hi sasuka: once you see the notice ,pls contact with me conrad@fortunateman.com .

Something I would like to see would be a synthetic slipper designed for people with narrow feet. My problem is that my narrow feet makes me size down to accommodate for stretching, which means that I don't get the fit I want for my toes. My preference would be for slipper that had a very asymmetrical last, but with a relaxed toe profile, in other words, toes flat. Something sensitive, perhaps with a thin mid sole upfront to help with edging a bit. PM me if you have further questions. I hold an affinity for the color blue if you decide to take this idea.

I'd love to see some shoes with lightning bolts streaking down the side or maybe Flames
