Not only is he going to be there. We couldn't do this thing without him as he is bringing the barbecue grill/cooker. Come and be the first to get pics of the curmudgeon actually step foot into a commercial climbing gym. Should be historic.

Is he going to climb? How weird would it be if he left with a membership? Hmmm...

FYI: there are only a few spots left in the clinics. The shindig hasn't even started yet and we've already raised a grand. :D

Wow, more than 10,000 raised in one night, pretty damn impressive!

It's done!! Thanks to all the folks who showed up last night for the GYGO fundraiser. We raised just over $10,000 for the event and everyone had a great time.
This is where we dole out the well-deserved thank-yous to all those who made this event a success. First on the list Doug Cosby and the Inner Peaks staff (Pam, PhilH, Donovan, and Corey) worked their butts off handling the register, setting up, and cleaning up afterwards. Nancy Jackson's contributions during the planning stages as well as running the auction and raffle the day of were invaluable. A special thanks to all those who operated under the radar while we were running around on Saturday trying to round up enough grills and Port-A-Johns to save the day, Tim Fisher, Sean Cobourn, Robert Hutchins, Jim Horton, Stewey and Mrs. Stewey did the stuff that needed doing (including running a grill during a sudden thunderstorm).
We would not have had any event were it not for the generosity of the climbing industry. Thanks to Mammut, Black Diamond, La Sportiva, and Trango for their ongoing support of this project. All our local retailers stepped up big time for GYGO: Old Town Outfitters, Great Outdoor Provision Company, REI, and Jesse Brown's as well as online retailer GearExpress. Kurt Smith, Chris Brown, and Adam Fox drove ungodly distances just to help make this event a success. Buy these guys a drink next time you see them.
Please forgive me if I have not given any party the credit they deserve, the list is pretty long. Hope to see you up at LK come October. Anybody free next weekend? I'm going climbing.

Aaaaannnnnd... Thank you, Eddie medina for taking the lead in organizing this whole thing. Stand tall, little soldier. Your nation of climbers salutes you!

Sadly, I won't be able to climb for the next couple weekends. Thankfully, I live five minutes from world-class stone and can climb on weekday evenings. :P Let me know when you guys are on the way up next weekend. We'll prep the backyard! (Though I'll understand if you want your kiddies to experience something a bit more woodsy.)

Excellent event! I had a blast even though I spent a lot more money than I intended...

Thanks to Eddie and the CCC. I am looking forward to the next event and to climbing at The Knob.
