A week before I could stop wearing goggles in the shower and I could get dirt and crap in them again, 1.5 weeks before I felt comfortable to drive again.
I still say if I was faced with the option of Lasik vs PRK I'd do the PRK all over again. You don't have to be as careful about your eyes.

It didn't hurt the day of. The day after I didn't enjoy (but they give you these lovely numbing eye drops!). After a few days there was not more pain. A guy in the office here also had PRK and he said he didn't even get the pain the first day. I'm a wuss.
Biggest annoyance while healing is that the eyes heal at different rates, so you get fluctuating vision. Not a problem until you have to stare at a computer screen all day, but even then it can be managed but dimming your screen and taking periodic breaks.
No halos, I came out with 20/20 vision, just one eye a little dry still. I hated contacts, couldn't wear them all day, and glasses suck. Having my eyes fixed is amazing!
