Petzl has a couple more options:

http://en.petzl.com/...Produits?Produit=193

http://en.petzl.com/...Produits?Produit=195

Haven't used either myself.

I have used the following device for rope access work. It works quite nicely (smooth rappels and good auto-stop function)

http://en.petzl.com/...Produits?Produit=205

The next one is kinda scary (Personal Escape System!):

you do know how to do a 'biner block rappel, right?Crazy

yes, but didn't need. as said, that long rap went fairly routine, and i had the device with the least friction. have done many long raps before with that. two of our party were familiar with that rap, and have already done it numerous times. and we weren't determined to fast rap, as the OP wants to here
biner BLOCK (at the anchor), not a biner brake. there's a big difference.

utilizing a biner block will negate the need for 700' of static line.

The best kind of bobbin is the ones where releasing or gripping the handle stops the descent. They only descend when the handle is kept at an intermediate position. This is because the panic reflex is to grip, not release the handle.

Yes, those are the best when dealing with 5 year olds.
OR dumbasses.

The OP seemed to have been having some money-making scheme in mind so he might well deal with dumbasses.

that we did for a rap with a shorter rope later on, but not for that initial extra long rap. one of us has a 700' rope, so we used it and retrieved it afterward

Pretty useless post, that. Why do you bother?

Anyway, this cave in itself is quite spectacular, and the trip I've planned there involves an hour or two walk up to the top of the mountain, then the rappel down the vertical wall, before the cave starts. People would be arriving from the roof, which is about 80 meters high. The cave is made by the ocean, and the trip would continue by boat. I wouldn't call people dumb tards for wanting to do this, but then again, I don't think I'm all that arrogant either.

Now we could all wonder why I bothered replying to your post...

That actually sounds pretty rad, I have to say.
