So I have gotten myself into a bit of a pickle. In my exuberance to stay for free at someone's cabin near ice climbing I have somehow agreed to be the only leader in the group of 4 and to set up TRs for them.

oops

So I'm currently trying ot put off the air that I'll put up a few lines for them but there's other stuff I want to climb that we won't be able to set a TR up on.

Hopefully I haven't already screwed myself over.

Shit, gotta go pick up dribble from the airport in an hour, and a snowstorm is rolling in. And I fergot what connector she's flying in from, so I can't look up to see if it's delayed or not.

I would recommend that you have them bring three ropes, and extra screws above what you normally lead on. Try to find two adjacent climbs, lead one, string up the other(or have them top out and do it), and then take the third rope and an unwitting belayer off to go do what you want.

More or less my plan, but if they turn out to be needy it could be an issue.

I also recomended bringing and extra vehicle on account that your average non ice climbing can only handle so much type 2 fun in a day.

As of yesterday I've skied all of the Vail properties in CO. My faves are definitely Vail and BC - Those are 3/4 of a tank round trip, whereas Keystone is only 1/4 tank. Keystone's not bad, the other two are just better. Haven't skied A Basin yet (we don't own it but it's included in my pass) but that's only supposed to be good when there's snow...and there's not.

Not a fan of Breck, very flat and crowded. My fam is coming out in a few weeks so we'll probably do a day at Breck where I'll throw my bros in ski school and do a nordic tour or snowshoeing with my mom. She also wants to go to the rocky mtn quilt museum...

Well, sheeit. I suppose everyone else is out climbing the climbs. Out east it is actually perfect Chattanooggee conditions, and my facespace feed is rife with people tawking about how awesome it is. Gargh.

I dropped a tiny piece of fish in the kitchen just now. It was cod. Good shit. Feisty went and sniffed it, kicked it around a bit, and then walked off without cleaning up the gawddamned mess. That cat ain't right.

Calvin doesn't know how to eat properly. He just licks at things until he can get it in his mouth. So giving him scraps of food just doesn't work, but he does love tuna juice and yogurt.
And, this is why dogs are superior. If you drop something, it disappears. Occasionally, if you look as if you may drop something, or if it is dangerously close to the edge of the counter, it disappears.

I wouldn't call pulling the thankgiving turkey off the counter superior.....

there is very little about dogs that I would describe as superior

Fuck, are picks that much now? Fortunately I'm super gentle on my pick. It's the weak child like swing that I have, when I hit rock I don't tend to hit too hard. Would you believe I only just put my second set of picks into my tools ever?

Oh, I've got a question for you Doc: Does having the hammer or not having the hammer change the swing a ton? I can't see he it wouldn't effect it but no one seems to complain.

So there's a snow storm happening outside. It's pretty full on, but for some reason I thought I'd still go see if my running clinic was on tonight.

I guess if you can barely drove on the roads they're not too interested in having people running on them through their clinics. Who knew!

I still have to go pick up milk at some point if I want cereal in the morning though. Bah.

Yeah, I'm still pretty hamfisted, and swing pretty damn hard, so when I hit rock, it tends to leave a mark. I would go through a set of BD T rated picks in a year or so, having lost an inch of pick.

The hammers add a bit of weight, especially if you keep the pick weight on there. I recently took mine off, and I'm not sure how much I like them, but this could be a combination of having really short picks rather than weight.

Well, it ended up being a fortuitous event for me, I'll get more into it if things pan out.

But yeah, lots of beautiful people wearing clothes that cost more than my rent, dropping lots of 'Gnarly's
