Ortho surgeons are generally pretty quick about hardware complications. Just whisper the word Osteomyelitis and they jump.
The important question: did you keep the pin?

Naw, I got to see it, took a pic, but i don't really have attachment to those kind of things (and it came out so easily that it was not attached to me, huh huh). Was not super impressive, only about an inch and a half long.

Owning at least one ATV fore-willer is an unwritten ordinance here. Which I am shamefully in violashun.

I had a few of the screws removed. The tibia rod is still in there.

Piss, so, as my gimpy foot has been gradually healing, the swelling has been going down and the skin kind of contracting. It's been hurtzing pretty bad at some of the points at which the ends of the pins are nearest the skin. Anyway, took off the Acewrap to bathe today, and sure enough we have a breech! Part of the pin is just fucking sticking out of the skin.

Called the Doc (real doc, not PhD, JD, or Feelgood), and hopefully will get an appt in the next day, before I fly out to Yewtaw. If not, I may just have to bring out the needlenoezes, bite down on a stick, and yank the fucker out. That would probably be a good idea.

Or not!

Makes me glad that I don't have pins in mine

Trust me, as soon as the Doc sez it's ok, he's gonna make like a grenadier and pull the pins.

When I did mine, the trauma surgeon sewed them back together. Said that they were an absolute mess. Not a clean tear in any of them. Sewed the tendons that attach to the smallest three toes together to give more support. Of course when I had to have my second surgery, the foot and ankle specialist was mortified and re-did it all. Seperating them all. I now have a lot of scar tissue that hurts like hell when I do most anything. Hope yours turns out to me nothing but a temporary annoyance with no lasting impact.

Ugh, yeah, I hope mine is not that bad. Now another one of the pins is hurting and threatening to break through.

just bang your fucking foot so the swelling increases, dumbass.

Or eat some salty foods adn stop taking ibu.

or all 3, just to be sure
