Agreed. Doesn't Jay have a rule #43 or something about this sort of thing?

Rule 34. It's not Jay's ... I don't know if it comes from xkcd, or if teh author got it from somewhere else.

that was wmd, btw. apparently, i'm sauron. Angelic

suz anyone else remember the old mod/admin on rc.com named "Sauron?" He was this fat Christian dude who to the best of my knowledge never climbed. Haven't thought about him for a while.

He came to Rumney 2.0 gathering and did climb. He is a large guy.. and lives in Tx now

They do indeed breed them big down here! He'd fit right in...

Shit dammit. I just half-assed a flip of a rather golden looking pancake. Yup, taco'd it. I salvaged it, but now I have overcooked places where the strawberries are a little too crisp and other areas where the chocolate chips aren't fully melted. Fuck, if I just had a job I'd be sitting at a desk safe from these sort of tragedies. Life can be hard sometimes.

Your new name is martha

Martha needs a job. Lookit what he's making for dinner

ny strip grilled rare with a shallot mushroom red wine rue, roasted seasoned fingerling potatoes, heirloom tomato and homegrown basil salad with homemade croutons, and beer

I made chicken parm.
The chicken had been in my freezer since a week after I moved in.
Hope I cooked it long enough.

So the Mrs. was home yesterday (sick kid h1n1) and I says - you can make that beef roast. sadly it was not as good as it could have been.

I hope she is tied up in the basement for her disrespect.

The clevers have a sekrit secks dungeon behind the bookcase for that sort of thing.

Good to know.

Do you guys want cookies or pie?

yes?

yep... or either.. both are good.

Far side goes above Calvin and Hobbes but CH is still awesome.
I have a thing for xkcd

I was always a garfield fan myself... but CH was pretty good too. Can't really beat Far Side for repeated quality though.
Dude, there are some Garfield strips that make my stomach hurt from laughing so hard.
Far side, Garfield and calvin and hobbs are definitely my favourite. I haven't heard of the bloom one they were talking about, though.

Garfield? Really? That is the consistently most stupid, unfunny and irritating cartoon ever conceived.

I believe the crap-awful movie fucked up the cartoon strip for sure!

Yeah, when the aussie mentioned Garfield, I was about to tell him to get right the fuck out and never come back again. But then I decided not to, since I've been being so serious, and he might have seriously taken offense and cried the real tears.

But seriously, Kachoong, get right the fuck out!

Yes. And as much as I hate to agree with Snupes, I think C&H and Bloom Country may be the top two.

Crap, I forgot about Farside. We have a trifecta. Though I could easily place C&H in third, I couldn't choose between Farside and Bloom.

Yeah, for me it would be a close call between Far Side and C/H for #2.

You guys are living in the past. When BC came back just recently it was just tripped out. There is not new C&H now either. Right or has my paper just dropped them.

Anyway, the best one that I see now is Pearls
Yesterday's:

no, there is no new Far Side, Bloom County, or Calvin. The recent Berke Breathed stuff is Opus, just on Sundays I think, and I haven't read most of them.

Being that I live at a ski resort, I get RSN...I've been watching ski porn all morning.

I'm beginning to doubt the possibility of rumney, given how little packing i have done and how much cleaning of this place to do (one roommate already bailed, the other is out of town till sunday and we have to be moved out by tuesday.)

no, Berke Breathed was doing Sunday strips called Opus -- obviously, the penguin was still the same main character. Don't remember who else was involved in the strip. I generally preferred the weekday strips anyway, they were better since you could have a long plotline.

Oh, I've gotcha, you were using BC= Bloom County.

I think there was another spinoff of Bloom County called Outlands, that was not too bad.

meh. The worst comic I ever regularly read was that one clausti and maculated liked with martin and faye. One day bored at teh work, I read like a hundred of them. big mistake. I got hooked, and it took me a while to quit.

BC was pseudo christian? I didn't realize that, but I only read a handful.

Beetle Bailey was on par with charlie brown, that good 1950s humor. I did like Miss Buxley.

Garfield was funny... when I was 8 years old.

Yeah, for me it would be a close call between Far Side and C/H for #2.

You guys are living in the past. When BC came back just recently it was just tripped out. There is not new C&H now either. Right or has my paper just dropped them.

Yesterday's:

Heh, I guess so.

i'm wrong for not being a calvin and hobbes fan?

Yes. And as much as I hate to agree with Snupes, I think C&H and Bloom Country may be the top two.

Crap, I forgot about Farside. We have a trifecta. Though I could easily place C&H in third, I couldn't choose between Farside and Bloom.

wait, are you talking about the BC that was the terrible pseudo-Christian propaganda years ago? Cavemen that believed in Jeebus? Gawd that was a terrible comic.

no, Berke Breathed was doing Sunday strips called Opus -- obviously, the penguin was still the same main character. Don't remember who else was involved in the strip. I generally preferred the weekday strips anyway, they were better since you could have a long plotline.

BC is terrible, yes.

That's what I was talking about -Opus. I think he fell off the crazy horse with that one.

Hey Kachoong! I found a coupon code that RockCandy gave us when we were at Rocktoberfest.

I don't see an expiry date or anything.
Shouldn't you be cleaning up the house for the parents? Are they there yet? Say hi for me.
Remind me tomorrow, they've already gone to bed.

My father started to irritate me when he was playing around with the GPS. I have never known an engineer who is as bad with electronics as he is (BTW - he's an EE at that).

Heh. I've been an IEEE Member forever and I still need to ask my 13 year-old how the damn DVD player works through our cable box. Cool

I hates you people...

Well, I can still explain to my son how TEGFETs work.

Curt

Jake/Biner,

Is the Calm Post still open?

I'm too lazy to research it, and it makes a difference in what I'll be packing for foodz.

Calm post is closed for the season. we missed it last weekend was the last one.

i'm bringing the coleman double burner :) i dunno what i'm cooking on top of it but there will be major firepower to do it with
Good to know.

It wouldn't be as funny without knowledge of 60-80s American politics.
