I'm a big fan of 'Return to Sender'. It's even a little instructional.

Blood, Sweat, and Bagels is a pretty good humbling look at what it takes to attempt a free climb on El Cap. The Brits get shut down but in the end still get the adventure that they were looking for. I love the part when the tougher acting of the two guys starts whining about his mangled gnarled hands from the too many days jamming.

Most definitely "The Sharp End" is my favorite movie dealing with trad climbing. Of course it isnt only dealing with trad but also with free soloing, high ball bouldering, and anything else that makes your palms sweat. "Blood Sweat and Bagels" is a wonderful movie that I enjoyed quite a bit as well.

Though not exclusively trad, I really like The Sharp End. Something about it always inspires me to climb scarier more runout stuff..

"The Sharp End" "First Ascent" and "Onsight" are all brilliant films. first two are not exclusively trad though. Onsight is great because it makes you feel like a wuss for even thinking about clipping a bolt

That guy climbing at the sea cliff with the shit rock and protection.. then trying to onsight it also.... Damn that was impressive.

Hard Grit and Hard XS. British climbing films seem to get down to the climbing more and spend less time on the heavy talk and philosophising. You don't have to listen to Steph Davis giving you her opinion on the world at the end of these.....

I'd say it's the Sharp End and Committed. The Grit scene gets old though. It's more a variant on highball bouldering anyway.

Onsight it is almost all trad but also looks in to the ethics of climbing and peoples takes on the different styles of climbing.

I may be biased, but Uncommon Ground is my favorite climbing movie (it's all Northeast climbing). It's not all trad, though. It has trad, sport, bouldering, and mixed. Josh

The only problem with both E11 and Hard Grit is that while excellent films, I need either sub-titles or a translator to understand what the hell most of the folks in the films are saying.

First Ascent was good, better than Sharp End IMO. I think my favorite trad vid bits are from Front Range Freaks though, the section with heidi wirtz redpointing the wasp, and that guy working Rough Roof in Eldo. Oh yeah, and topher donohue on lock of rages. I didn't care for a lot of the other segments though. The gal bouldering in 1880s attire, wtf?

He also soloed Gia, after getting the onsight. Progression has that guy on the cover of Hard Grit doing the same route making the same move. Makes more sense now, thanks Curt.
