Another awesome weakend at the New. Got on a new route called Black Crack, which apparently Croft onsited for teh FA, pissing off the locals. It's in the middle of a steep spurt crag, so nobody does it. Starts with four bolts of bouldery climbing, then joins a crack for a bunch of 12a fingerlocks separated by REALLY big jugs. Then, about 60 feet up, there's a hard crimp traverse to the right, where you hit a SPLITTER big .4 camalot crack, about 30 degrees overhanging, totally physical and straightforward and hard.

Rope drag was pretty bad, so I had to remove a lot of the directionals, too many, it turned out, to toprope easily. Dribble TR'd it, fell at the traverse, and could not get back on the route. I offered to go back up it to clip in some directionals, but nobody would let me TR it with the danger of cratering or hitting trees while climbing the first section without directionals. So, we took an existing other TR on an adjacent route, and I did this awesome clusterfuck of a double rope, twinbelayer toprope. PIcs will follow, it was way embarrassing.

Yesterday went back to the Lake, dribble made highpoints on Apollo, I gt half a move better on Pod, we talked shit on and with the Chossmarmots before they drove home. Good weekend. That is awl.

you forgot to add that zaturday, after you went through the trouble of re-directionalling black crack, jojo had somehow promised to clean all three lines we still had strung up, and you had to go BACK up black crack to clean it on TR, jojo TR-cleaned his proj, and I had to embarrass my way up the line I was working on lead AGAIN.

it was pathetic. and then we went and had ice cream.

Spiritual crimez were many and varied this weekend. Something tells me that the photographic evidence had been erased from camhead's camera already.

The only thing stronger than spiritual crimes was my weakness.

and ice cream... yeah, definitely spiritual crimez!

No way! I'm uploading the pics as soon as I get home tonight!

Heh, so, I'm sitting in Wimminzes History right now, giving an exam. One of the students, who is a bit of a manipulative flirt, batted her eyelashes at me as I was passing out the exam, and asked "can you PLEASE drop our lowest exam score in this class?"

I looked at my notes, squinted, then raised my eyes to her, saying, "Clipboard says no."

Only three. She was clearly just trying to use her feminine charms to better her grade. Susan B. Anthony would be disgusted.

Zing!
I have enjoyed assigning extra credit that is too involved and/or hard for the slackers to attempt, and merely adds to the stress levels of the over-achievers that do it.

Where is my umbrella?

come on, doc, it's monday, and kamhed had announced last weke that he'd be at teh gnu. you should have this shit prepared.

This is tru. Donny should just write some dirty crypto that replaces any clamhat post on Monday during Spring or Fall with a pic of a big fire hose.

we could also just shoot you.

Always a good option. Make sure you do it after I cook a few weeks worth of food for teh dribble, though.

cool. I will send someone to shoot you and then eat yore food.

You beat me to it. I was just thinking, shoot them both and get the food!

Does it still count as GU if I caught it in time to realize that it would have been a GU?

Rumney went ok. Was really cold Saturday so warming up was pretty tough and i gave a new project a try anyway. super reachy boulder problem to a rest then out another roof (lena would not be amused). spent the rest of the day doing mileage on familiar stuff to get my head in the leading game again.

Sunday was warmer but somehow warming up i managed to pull a muscle in the back of my forearm. didn't really bother me until the end of the day but it's still swollen a bit now 2 days later. Still had a good day.. did 9 pitches total. finished the day TRing some hard one ones i hadn't tried before and one i will probably go back to lead.

good news is i think the gym stuff i've been doing this winter has me back closer to where i'd like to start the year after slacking pretty bad last year.
