This game can be played with many groups, but let's do climbers, shall we? Submit a picture of a climber. Use following point system to determine if they're a douchebag. If you can hit 10 pts... Douchebag status!!! I'll start with some points, please recommend more. 1 pt - Backwards hat 1 pt - Livestrong bracelet 1 pt - Shiny slings 1 pt - Rolled up pant cuffs 1 pt - Bouldering 2 pt - Basketball Shorts 2 pt - Under Armour (anything) 3 pt - Trying to 'justify' your douchebag points 3 pt -brings a dog to the crag that'll a breed Paris Hilton has kept in her handbag 3 pt - Oversized sunglasses ( w) 3 pt - Anything Abercrombie 3 pt - 5Finger Shoes 3 pt - Backwards hat under helmet 3 pt - Heavy makeup ( women) 3 pt- Trad gear in the gym 4pt - gold chains 4 pt - Owns, and admits using, Muscle Milk 5 pt - Sleeveless shirt ( men only). 5 pt - Daisy chain thong 5 pt - Asian tattoo 5 pt - Uses special tools to drink beer ( beer bong, funnel) 5pt - oversized sunglasses ( m) 5 pt - Popped collar 6 pt - Heavy makeup (men) 6 pt - Diamond studs (men) 6 pt - Skins and beanies ( unless you're a chick, then you get + 20 awesome points) 6 pt - Anything Ed Hardy 8 pt - Asian tattoo meant to be significant, but actually says 'Kung Pao Chicken' 8 pt - Spray Tan Before you freak and go 'OMG, you jerk! I wear sleeveless tees and wear a backwards hat and you're saying I'm a douchebag?' Relax, USNavy, you're only a 6.... Not a full douchebag.

Who's Ed Hardy? And is that a crag that Paris Hilton has owned or a dog that Paris Hilton has owned?

According to that chart I score a 1. I'll cop to the rolled up pant cuffs. But I also wear old work pants for climbing pants, often with tar stains, paint, half torn patches. I could get cool dirtbag points, or negative douchbag too cheap ass to buy pants points.

For some reason, sit-starts remind me of watching baywatch, you know, when someone is 'drowning' in 2' of water and you're yelling "STAND UP. JUST STAND UP." Yeah, a lot of bouldering photos remind me of that.

Well, there should probably be some points for men wearing brightly colored lycra after the 1980's. Also, subtract a few points if you still climb in a swami belt instead of a harness. Curt

If you have to ask on the internet how to make a trad anchor without 2 cordelets and 50ft of daisychained webbing hanging off your ass then you get 6 points just for asking as well as 6 points for each bundle of webbing and each cordelette heck I have not even owned a cordelette in 10 years.. cut em all up into v threads ice climbing.

I get an additional 5 points for being from Jersey and another 3 points for my tan from weekends at the shore. 1 point for rolling up my pants cuffs, and I got a tribal tattoo (5 points) that has an Asian Character (another 5 points). My wife wears makeup and jewlery while climbing (let's call it an even 3 points since she is a Jersey Girl afterall). But we call each other "dude" and "bro", so there's 5 points. And after we climb we usually get cheesesteaks or pizza, 5 points. 32 points, Douchemaster!

I should get +5 for being from and climbing in northern Minnesota. Damn, with that I'm at 11 points.

I do but there's nothing wrong with a cordelette. Its just a loop of cord and makes no sense for people to not like it.

Bringing your radio to the crag and playing Chili Peppers loud enough that I can hear it 20 yards away has to be worth 10 points by itself...

Hehe, douches one starring people for calling them douches kind of reminds me of those Islamic fundamentalists who kill people for saying that Islamic fundamentalism is violent. It only confirms what they are trying to combat.

Pretty much any radio at the crag is 200 points. I once saw a complete wanker set up his Ipod w/ the speaker thingy @ the base of the cliff cranking the tunes while he was solo aiding a 5.6 while drinking bud tall boys and tossing the cans.. I unplugged his speakers and made a point of soloing the 5.7 next to him so that I could politly ask him if he planned to pick up his emptys before wrapping things up...

This thread is super confusing. Not only is it unclear whether being a douchebag is a good thing (some people seem very excited about it and are rating themselves high on the douche scale--should I feel left out for having very few points), but what's wrong with the Red Hot Chili Peppers?

Dude needs his tunes all the way to the top of the climb if he's gonna totally crush it, shirtless. On any decent-sized crag, that means the sh*t has to be loud for 20-30 yards up, at least. So you're gonna hear it. Of course, if he's thoughtfully wearing earbuds, keeping it to himself, he's still a d-bag.

The chili peppers have one trick: play beginning of song, rap in the middle, play remainder of song...and parts one, two, and three are pretty much the same in 75% of all of their songs...or at least the ones I've heard...which is not much considering the above formula gets old after the second song.

Now he's the biggest kind of douche bag because I just know he's shouting 'TAKE A PIC QUICKLY' just before he falls. That has to be a 10 The other is loudly breaking wind whilst trying to make that grab on a boulder. That has to be worth a 5

You are now One Of Us, unlike LostInMaine (who is probably a NASCAR fan). Secondly, is that the elastic band from Lewis's underpants we see protruding from above his harness? Because if it is then that is all the information we need to ascertain his douchebag status. Jay

I scored a 7 myself. I don't know why bouldering is considered douche bag related. I know a lot of people do lead climbing but, I like bouldering. I also wear work jeans with grease and other stuff on them so I'll admit to the rolled up jeans, they're comfy and I can still stretch pretty well in them. The thing that I have to admit though is the sleeveless shirt. It's honestly just the culture where I'm from to wear out beaters almost everywhere.
