You know, I've been thinking about picking up some of those books, I've heard good things. Plus, I haven't read a good 50 page monologe for a while. I found some of her monologues fairly inspiring. I think you'll like it. It is an important read if one hopes to relate to today's youth. A timeless classic. The shipping on Atlas Shrugged alone would probably negate all the savings from that Groupon. but OTOH, it is a good weapon. If you drop it on the bad roommate's head, for example.

drivel wrote: so you guys remember the "I want to call my girlfriend and have her tell me she loves me" [url= http://vimeo.com/27367910]video? And how I was like "I'm not sure I have ever been in good enough shape to push myself to that state." ? As it turns out, you don't have to be in excellent shape to go there. You just have to have some strong motivation to go way past your sanity threshold. So I rode in Pelotonia yesterday again. I was signed up for 180 miles, but I had pretty well decided that since camhat was going to be coming home last night, that I wasn't even going to try and do the second day. In retrospect, if I *had* tried, I wonder if I would have started hallucinating or fallen off my bike or something. Seems extremely likely. So I am extremely thin right now. I'm like 5 or 6 lbs lighter than I was when camhat left for the summer, for a grand total of 106-108 lbs. I'm still running probably ~12-14% body fat. And then I ran roughly a 5,000 calorie deficit yesterday. oh and it was fucking freezing all day. It was like 60 degrees all day and overcast and intermittently raining. I had a light cycling jacket that's not exactly either water- or wind-proof. It was supposed to be like upper 70s, so I did not bring a longsleeve midlayer or anything. So I was cold while riding basically all day, except when I was acutely hill climbing, but even then I ever got warm enough to take my jacket off. And I couldn't really stop for very long at a time, because to stand still was to be like, muscle-crampy cold. I was glad I'd at least brought a jacket; I felt bad for ppl in nothing but a jersey and shorts. I rode the 100 miles. I had one riding buddy for the first 70 miles or so, and in the final 30, I let him ditch me on the hills and fell in with an overweight dad with knee problems. We were a perfect match, both slow as shit but determined to finish. By the time I finished the ride, I was mentally *fucked.* I walked a few steps off the route and was met by a volunteer lady, who asked me if I was riding tomorrow and I was like... no. So she took my bike and i headed towards the massage table and my bad with more clothes in it. I was going to be warm for the first time all day, damnit. I went to empty my jersey pockets so I could lay on the floor and wait for a massage, and I was utterly confused by the contents of my own pockets. Said contents: my phone. my sunglasses. the little pouch for my sunglasses. a piece of food trash. I held it all in my hands and stared at it for a minute before I figured out that I should put it i my duffle bag so I didn't lose any of it an also be able to lay down. Once I finished getting my little massage, I hopped on a shuttle bus back to the launching area. I got off the bus and went to find my bike. It was not there. The volunteer lady said that the bike was probably on the final bike truck, due to arrive in several hours. My car keys were in my bike bag. I was like... but I turned in my bike hours ago?? I could not comprehend what I was supposed to do when I could not go home. I sat down on my bag and cried my eyes out. I called cammy, who had been home for maybe an hour after driving from Utah, to come pick me up. It's probably best that I did not try and drive home. And then we went out for steak and I looked like a junkie but I did not care. We (well, he) informed the server that I was just done doing Pelotonia, and she immediately had sympathy on me. The steak was awesome. and then [boring redacted.] Damn... full on! Nice werk Gerk!

I need to get me some of that all. I think I'm getting sucked back into the werk werld. Durp! Although a trip to the NW would be nice. Leavenworth, Squish, Smith

I generally like fiction, but could be convinced for some non fiction if the subject interests me. Way too broad! I dunno, my attitude towards books has changed quite a bit in the post-Kindle world. I am not buying a book that I am not going to read more than once, and it is hard to know ahead of time that i would really like something enough to read it more than once. So I am more likely to buy a non-fiction book that is a reference kind of book, or has large pictures, etc. Not stuff that is electronic device-friendly. I like those books too, and this place is great for getting books like that...problem is that I'm buying online so while I was thining of getting a gardening book, etc, it's hard to say if it's any good until I get it. I think I would enjoy owning a Kindle, but it's not in the budget right now. The up front cost of a kindle isn't what gets you. It's how easy and simple it is to buy an $8 book ... Before you know it, youre way in the hole for books you can't loan or show off or give away. Nah, it is only a problem if you have a shopping addiction, like 'biner. 2 years, and I haven't bought a single e-book yet. Our library is great for downloadables. And you can loan or borrow a kindle book if you have Amazon prime. So I have to have Amazon Prime in order to share? My mom wants to borrow a couple of my Kindle books, but neither of us have the prime.

Brians jorb is in Arvada, so unless I find something where we'll really need to split the difference, it'll be around there. Maybe Broomfield.

damn, well, it turns out that this may be the most getting-back-into-it-est autumn I've had in a while, after not climbing anything but cracks all summer. Feeling good, actually the scale says I'm at a ten year low in weight, but I've got NO power-endurance reserves in the gym. Probably going to start from square one and hope it comes back quick. Lots of cardio, antagonist, and core training, maybe two more weeks of just regular gym bouldering, then start another hangboard cycle and hope things come together.

I have tried copying one of my books onto Jeff's kindle when mine was out of commission, and when you try to open it is says something about "licensed to another user". It is really annoying, because Jeff could borrow my hardcopy book anytime, right?
