My gym just installed four of those TruBlue auto belays. They sketch me out but they are useful for running laps.

Ummm, use lubricated tissues? heh. no, was a good time really. I didn't want to go because I'm not a huge party kind of guy, but they're folks who I have / have had class with and decided it'd be ok. the rain held off, i didn't pull any muscles, and I managed to understand about 50% of what was said (less if you consider what I wasn't paying attention, to, which, btw, is my real problem for not learning portuguese fast enough). i think my problem is that I have a sort of compulsive way about me, and when I do some activity it's the kind of thing that I like to do a lot, or like to do seriously, so these sorts of events are usually uninteresting for me because they're supposed to be laid back with small talk, etc.. Well, maybe this is a sign of getting old. I don't give a shit about worrying about stuff like that any more, I just do it and have a good time. pick my battles and roll with the punches now. i admit I had fun (and that tall russian dude was scary good at volleyball. that was a sight to behold). I'm getting to the same point. Mellowing with age or something. Two of my climbing partners just got engaged and invited me to the wedding. 2-3 years ago I would never have even considered going. I just didn't go to those types of events but now I'm thinking about it. It just doesn't get under my skin like it used to. Weddings are still meh for me, but I go. I've always preferred to just be around my kind of people, but yeah, with age, it gets easier to branch out a bit. last portuguese class today until march. three weeks until I leave for spain. 10 months until my visa expires. less than a year away from what? this is the question.

It's sunny, well, for a little bit more today. Mid 60s, no wind. Overcast. A rather pleasant day today. Didn't even need a hoody this morning. But apparently suburban Canadians don't know how to drive heh They probably do better than S California in a slight drizzle I guessing this is true. Slight drizzle -> Less Cars -> Everyone else drives faster.

Haven't picked it up to play with yet but I'm hoping it's a bit more supple for use as a sport rope. The Maxim I'm using as a tard line is pretty stiff but has the 1 over 1 weave and feeds brilliantly thru the ATC. Just kind of sucks thru the GriGri vs. 2.0 Need to get 6-7 cams reslung and the rack is going to be pretty flush for spring. Has a long tick list of .10 - .11 gear routes for the fall. Hopefully I will be up and running by April... Where are you looking at having this done? I have replaced about 7 rigid stem Friends, circa 1982, with a set of 12 or so Wild Country Tech Friends, circa 2005, and would love to have consistent, color schemed supertape sewn on to my specs. Wasn't one of the shops in NoCo doing re-slinging or am I just delusional? MoutainTools.com will do it, but you'll be sending your gear to California. I think Ragged Mtn does it, but I'm looking at options. Ideally I will find a place with 10+ shades of webbing. I'll probably end up using them once the rock season gets totally shut down. It looks like Mountain Tools has the most flexible options and currently has 11 colors available. Yates does them too but they won't take cams over 10 years old and some of my TCU's are at the 12 year mark and have date stamps. I'll probably go with Mountain Tools if for no other reason than that. http://www.mtntools.com/...ms/mt_camresling.htm OK. So whats wrong with old cams?!?!?!?! I gots some TCU's must be 20yo. Knot even as old as Edge's freinds. Ok, so they have the roll pin stops and no cuts across the lobes. But they work fine. They didn't even come with slings new. So they still only have hand tied.

I bet you could have looped 20 feet of thin cord like shoelace or heavy fishing line over it and sawn through it from 10 feet away with a couple rips.

So, how do I tell a friend that her new boyfriend used to be my booty call, when he told her I used to be his girlfriend, and now she's all worried about my feelings. I don't have feelings. Fuck!

Of course, if she's worried about your feelings you can just tell her it wasn't as serious as a girlfriend-boyfriend thing. that may make her feel better. I wouldn't come out and say "you know that pimple he has on the left side?...he really likes that."
