Turns out that one of them was a bit "slow," looked just like that "Patsy" character that Terry Gilliam plays in Monty Python's Holy Grail, kind of leering and stumbling all over the place. I guess he had saved up thousands with a janitor job over the past 50 years, decided he wanted to go be a cowboy, and paid for his two neighbors' trips as well, so that they could come with him. Was nice enough, but a total disaster. Couldn't walk 50 feet without meatbombing, fell off his horse multiple times a day. Once he almost cratered into my lit stove with a full pot of chili on it as well, but I power spotted him away from it. I asked if he was all right, and he said, "yeah, I fall all the time! Once, my group put on a play at the community center, and I fell off the stage!" I had to hide a laugh at that one.

Getting worse, the woman of this group announced that she had a severe wool allergy, and that she couldn't use our sleeping bags. Rather than argue with her that our bags were not wool, I wound up lending her mine, just to shut her up. Just threw it in the front loading washer, and it smelled like moldy cigarettes.

To me this looks like your outfitting buissiness is ill prepared to deal with anybody other than the perfect customer. Im sure if you offered just a bit of realistic good service you could have found out about all your quips beforehand and either denied the trip or prepared for the problems. I for one have Chrohns and am personally offended by your remarks. I also have friends and family that are disabled. We try very hard to do what we can and live to the best we can.
You cant possibly blame them for their problems. You have to only blame yourself for your inability to provide them with good service. If my guide got drunk on his own every night and was an A hole i wouldn't tip them either. And im usually a 20% tipper. Tipping is for good to great service. If you expect to make more money charge more money.
I hope you revise some of your policies to better prepare yourself for situations like this instead of complaining on a public forum.

And, I hate to descend into a tit for tat rebuttal, but thread resurrection guy: the guide service I worked for is very accomodating. We have catered to paraplegics, crohns disease, vegetarians, but allergies, and everything else under the sun. The main gripe with this particular groupe was that they did not fill out ANYTHING in the lengthy health forms that we sent them. Thus, they embarked on the trip without any of us KNOWING that they were borderline retarded (literally), Crohns, heart condition, etc. That was the problem. And we did not cancel the trip, because last season was pretty grim economically.
