There's a dog boarding place in town....
1) Score a permit for an overnight through the narrows. They reserve half of the permits for walk-ins. Stay in the area of camps 1-5 and it will be a perfect trip. Take the early shuttle and take... your... time. Bring the camera and have plenty of batteries and memory/film (Who uses film anymore - besides me?)
2) Arrange a shuttle for dropoff. We used Zion Rock Guides
3) Drop off the pooches.
4) Have your mind blown!
Additionally, you can take a small bit of roap and a harness for the missus and head into Orderville canyon for a day trip. Follow steps 1-4 (substitute Orderville for step one).
Or the subway tubes.
Since you are camping there and seem to be on a free schedule you would have the privilege to just get up and go whenever availability is. Don't let the bottom-up experience of the Narrows dissuade you. I enjoyed the canyon above "Wall Street" much more than where the hoards of tourons are. Plus, going down stream all day is much better than going up!
The Hanging Gardens Trail is one to check out! Go all the way to the top! While Angels Landing is neat, and I surely didn't mind the ADA accessible trail, the 5.0 section with chains and whatnot was a clusterfuck!

I noticed it when I shot it and didn't think much otherwise of it....
My lenses are covered in dust still. I need to get in and clean them before this weekend. Definitely before the end of the weekend in preps for the next trip

University update... I rocked my first course... now in my second.
Trying to apply to the fall and its a giant clusterfuck of absolutely none of the courses I need having space.
