Hey zozo, you remember hearing this? "ahh Im sore I'm not going climbing tomorrow, I'm takin tomorrow off". He may go check it out but I know I wouldn't be able to resist getting on something. How much you wanna bet he shows up at the gym tonight? (Just kidding larry) I'd go with If I weren't already at work in Denver. Have a good time, don't overdo it.(probably see you at the gym, lol)

Hey Folks, With the relatives being in town last week and after being out of town Mon-Fri, chances are I am not going to make Shelf on Saturday. I need to spend some time with the better half, but plan to hit Lumpy on Sunday if you guys are headed up that way. Any ideas on a time and place to meet for Lumpy? Would be cool if we could get an early start, i.e. meet some where circa 7 - 8:00 am. Maybe meet in Boulder (Neptunes?) and ride up together? I am willing to drive and have room for 1 (maybe more, with the wifes truck) but I've got to get back into Denver circa 6 pm. To get an idea of who's headed where over the weekend, drop a post comparable to this: Sat: Hanging with wifey... looking like a rest day, maybe some yoga, bunch of house hunting, honey do list Sun: Lumpy, if thats where folks are headed, meet some where circa 8:00 am, plan to bring the usual: draws, slings, rope... should have a set of nuts next weekend, starting up the trad rack :D. Sat - Shelf Road Sun - Not at all sure about Lumpy, that is like a three hour drive one way for me........ unless someone talks me into it! :) Are we all on the same page as to where at Shelf we are meeting?

Thanks to everyone who went climbing at the garden yesterday. It was great to meet all of you. Thanks for the photo, Larry! I'm not going to be able to make it to the gym tonight--I'm probably going to have to stay late at work. But, I'm still up for climbing at shelf on Saturday. Colorado Springs climbers, do you want to meet somewhere and carpool? Sunday I won't be climbing--I might go spring snowboarding if the snow isn't completely crappy.

You can belay me anytime because the same thing, or something similar, will happen to me as well. Dave is the only person I know that can hurt hinself in his sleep. lol See you guys and gals tomorrow at 8:00.

After reading what I wrote earlier I thought it came out a little wrong, so let me clarify here a little. zozo was only about a foot off the ground and in no danger. It would have in no way been humorous if there was any danger of him actually hurting himself (although I probably would have made a joke about it, because that's what I do to lighten serious situations, I can't help it, the jokes just come out sometimes). Here's what I see this morning. It rained here in the Springs this morning, puddles all over, and you can see more rain coming over pikes peak. You can see some blue sky behind this set of clouds. The weather channel says partly sunny with 30 % chance of rain. I imagine we will still go cause its only a 45 minuet drive from the springs but I just thought I would throw that out there for people driving all the way from the boulder area. http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USCO0054.html

The skies are really starting to lighten up and the rock could be dry by the time we get down there. Us springers arnt leaving town till 8 so by 9 it could be fine. Then again it might not have rained at all there.

Hope it dries up enough for you guys. Marketa and I are staying in town today. We'll either go to Lumpy Ridge tomorrow or Eldo again it looks like. We got the annual state park pass for $55. Some weekend day we'll have to climb in Garden of the Gods. I've only bouldered there on the white rock. Cool looking stuff.

Its wet in Denver this morning as well, lots of puddles. Turns out Kim (my wife) may want to do some climbing tomorrow as well. The tough part is she wants to go to some open houses in the morning (were looking for a house...). Kim has only TRed and chances are we will probably just head up to CCC and hit high wire crag because its close and the book says it has some decent mods that can be TRed following a lead. If the weather stays kinda funky, may just hit R&J south... Ahh the married life! Sorry for flaking on Lumpy, have a blast with out me. BTW, I am free Friday and Saturday next week and hope to put in some long days... anybody want to put some time in at Eldo maybe GOTGs on Friday? KT

Shelf was interesting today...we had a group of 7 people..The day started out nice with ok weather and we warmed up on Crynoid Corner (good lead dave). Then it started to cool off a bit and roxane and dave set up an emergency poncho bivy at the base of the route (too funny). After rob, heather, roxane and myself took a lap on Crynoid we warmed up a bit and ate a bite then headed to Chunky Monkey. We jumped on that just as the hail and snow started comming in (slippery). Then decided to bail just as the sun was comming out...oh well, you can't win 'em all...On the way back we stoped at the gym and got some more in for the day...all in all it was a good half day of climbing and there will be pics to follow..

I suggest planning on Shelf for next week also, I felt bad for Jeremy and Holly(Nice to meet a fellow Mainer, sorry we didnt get to talk more). They drove all the way from Boulder to get hit with a windy snow squall so we sent them to Garden of the Gods and Im betting it rained there as well cause it rained on us the whole way home. We would need to make sure we have a couple of strong leaders in the groups if we decide to hit shelf again next weekend. I dont care what Larry says if the book says Chunky Monkey is a 10.d then I climbed my first 10d today!!

Man, it was pretty chilly and windy today. Lots of black clouds, too. So some of them beched some snow on you guys? Sheesh. I think we will just hit Clear Creek Canyon tomorrow so we won't have far to drive home if we bail. Might check out Highlander Crag now that I know where it is. So I'm very interested in going to Lumpy next weekend. After that, I wanna go climb in the Flatirons. I think doing some easy runouts on the Slab would be keen. It's huge and there's almost too many ways you can climb it. Can't wait for summer to climb at Cobb Rock in Boulder canyon.

I'm up for just about anything next week. I, like crazyfingers, am looking for a house. Therefore, it will be dependant on those scheduled activities. However - I am up for Lumpy, Flatirons, Eldo and GOTG. Shelf's ratings start at seven. Since I am enjoying top ropes at that level - I doubt I'd climb on lead that much. Who knows - if the weather is better than this weekend - I might be game. However, I need to hang a little closer to DEN to look for houses etc. JD
