I have a goal to send 5.12 (sport) by the end of the year. What is the good one to try? I was thinking Energizer at the Pit. Any suggestion?

I guess it would depend if you are looking to: "send a 5.12" with the emphasis being on "a", meaning that you are looking for the easiest 5.12 tick that is available so you can say you've "sent 5.12" or "send 5.12" with the emphasis being on 5.12, meaning you are looking for a good, fun route that is worth it's 5.12 rating, for which you won't be laughed at when people ask you what your first 12 was :D either way, I've never sport climbed in AZ so I can't help you  but hopefully you'll be able to clarify this point for the people that will be able to help you

you might find some clip and go @ Granite Mountain but it's closed until July 15th for peregrines so start training!!!!!!!!! Lower Sullies, Granite Dells, around Prescott ----but Flag is probably best for sport difficulty

Do Queen's Sceptre in Queen Creek, just up the road from Atlantis and before the pullout to the Pond. It's the 150' pinnacle up the hill. The crux is at the first roof then the rest of the roofs are just a series of boulder problems. I'll belay you. Manny

Under Attack - Jack's. Passes the short and fun criteria, might be lacking on the solid 12 criteria

Swiss Arete at Jacks is a very good low-12. Under Attack is slightly easier, but still in the 11+/12- range. If you just want the grade, then do Six Shooter, an inexplicable 12a at Cracker Jack... some have argued, very convincingly, that Six Shooter could be 10d.

In reply to: I haven't done God Walks Among Us at The Pit, but it looks cool. It's good, with a crux that is more balance and technique than power, and a little runout to the anchors that will keep you motivated. Plus you get 12b credit for it. -Jay

So I went on the Energizer at the Pit couple of weeks ago, and it was really rad. I can see why it is called "The Energizer", cause it is very very powerful. I hangdogged my up to the top, and it feel like it is doable problem for me.
