I'm heading back to SoCal for a visit from SW Colorado (too damn cold recently) and I am hoping to do some bouldering/routes in the area. I know there has been some access issues recently and would like if I could get some information on good camping and climbing. I would really appreciate info. on the bouldering (highly recommended areas etc.)

As for the camping, I would prefer to avoid areas with copious shotgun shells, broken bottles and tweakers...

THANKS!!!

Rob

The best bouldering, IMO, at Oak Flat can be found at the areas called "The Maze," "Piranha Flat" and "Binghamland." The first two are described in Marty Karabin's guide to the area. A guided tour would serve you best, however.
