Im going to be spending a week in missouri (near warrensburg), a couple of weeks in illinois (near springfield), and a week in michigan (marquette area) in August. If anyone has any spare time or info they can share about climbing in these areas it would be very helpfull to a confuzzed soul such as myself. Im coming from england and wont be able to bring much gear so bouldering is propably the goal. Thanks in advance!!

In Missouri, check out Elephant Rocks State Park. In Southern Illinois, check out Jackson Falls, Opies Kitchen, Giant City State Park, and Fern Clyffe State Park.

This website has directions and topos for all of these places.

I live about 30 min. south of Springfield. I make trips fairly frequently to Jackson Falls and Giant City. I dont know when you will be here but you are welcome to tag along.

hey top out, I may take you up on that offer. I will be around from the 6th to the 17th or so. If you have anything planned during that time frame let me know. Ive been in England for the past 4 years and started climbing over here, so im not familiar with my home turf. thanks

while you are in warrensburg- it should be hellishly hot in missouri...but the good roped climbing is within an hour of warrensburg if you are determined to tie in. If you find yourself wanting some A/C while you are climbing; Ibex climbing gym is only 40-45 minutes away. I'd be willing to meet you there, I live down the street. what are you doing in the states..and what did you do in england?

After being in England for 4 years, yes it is going to feel extremely hot!! Im definitly down with climbing ibex though, with or without A/C. I am visiting the wifes family around Warrensburg and Kansas City, and im in the Air Force, which is why im in England. Look forward to climbing with ya mate!
