I'd like to hear about those things that bring a smile to your face every day -Those things that instantly make you forget about all the crap you've had to deal with during the day....

Things that make me smile.....um...well I think we all have the one thing in common, so I will just leave that one alone. There is my friends. They make me smile more than anything. My family too...even though they are a pain in the ass. hehehe. And just being alive.

Thinking of my poor little babies I left back in California. They are sooo nice and soooo much fun, I miss cuddling up with them after work. I'll try to post pictures.

Top ten, in no particular order of importance/rank: 1. a good sincere hug 2. good food/wine/bevie 3. knowing i am well loved and cared for 4. looking at my semi-cubical w/ all the bright Hello Kitty articles (work as gov subcontractor) 5. remembering funny memories of my childhood 6. receiving the good in life that i've given in some way and/or form 7. remembering where i've come from, where i've been and thinking of where i'll go 8. memory of my mom farting really really loud during mass once - when the priest holds up the host and blesses it --- some serious bass my mom had that night 9. having a roof over my head that i own 10. laughter from little kids when i am out and about --- their imagination, their love for life, their innocence.... (my friend's son was playing w/ the school bus and saying how the bus was scared cause the dinosaur is taller then it... later to sing, "the people on the bus go, help help help" (tune of wheels on the bus) w/ the dancing dino in hand..... blk aka jen

When students I help in the lab ask my last name so they can sign up for my class the following quarter. My happy dog. Morning light. Hot cocoa. Hugs. Calls from friends I haven't heard from. Getting asked out. Going to my office. "Your post has been highly rated." The smell of orange blossoms. The smell of jasmine. Swimming. Getting into my car (I just really like my car these days) Looking back at myself five years ago and going, "Whooooooo! I have come a long way." Goodies in the mail. A good book. Little kids. Someone telling me a secret. Someone asking me for advice. Hoar frost. Silence. Laughter. Damn, this is fun. Good posts.

Usually it is simple, random occurences that make me smile. Just today it was 2 small kids waiting to cross the street. They were dancing happily for 2 minutes on the pavement waiting for the Green Man signal - shaking their hips and waving their arms to an imaginary tune shared only between each other. They seemed truly content, laughing affectionately at each other the whole time. I will be sure to hold on to that memory.

The smell of bacon cooking in the morning The way my fingers ache after a climb "You have 2 new messages" Reading a good book by the fire "Hi Dad!" Getting a hand written letter in the mail Massaging my wife's back while we watch an old movie on TV A favorite song playing on the radio Flipping over to the cool side of the pillow. "I love you too"
