Obviously they didn't tie it on with an 8-follow-through. Probably used something silly like a single non-locker on an overhand on a bight.

What was the likely direction of pull? I can't imagine a fall which would generate fall forces in that direction.

In reply to: I really didn't think clipping in was a cruicial part of an anchor...in the movies they just set up an anchor, don't clip it, and it holds them up. :lol: ....that's because they're usually still on the ground....

what do ya meen it failed. I can't find any problems with anchoring into sand. I normally shove a few hexes in sand and their bomber. i'd climb on it.

well a mushroom anchor would have been a better choice for that short of bottom....
