where's the best place to start bouldering on the east coast?

east coast of what my man? if ur a canadian hit up checbucto head, lots of great places to learn round halifax, if not, welllllll.......i guess i wouldn't be able to tell ya, good luck

It looks like you're in Jersey. Check out Allamuchy State Park. You have to register to climb in Jersey now, but I guess it's free and forms are available at the state parks. There is a lot of stuff in Northern Jersey. The climbing guide to New Jersey (Falcon Guide) has a lot of information. Be sure to check if there are any access issues before venturing off, I've heard that Jersey has a lot of stuff that is closed or on Private land. If you head into PA, check out Haycock and Governers Stable.

Also, the Watchung Mountains have some good bouldering. Again, check out the climbing guide to NJ.
