Thanks, Doug. There's a great article in the 1964 AAC Journal about Perry-Smith by J. Monroe Thorington, but it ends with him leaving Germany and returning to the USA in 1914. He seems to have quit climbing in Europe a couple of years previously and put all his energies into skiing, becoming a champ. But I can't find any reference to him climbing again anywhere. He presumably returned to the family home in Philadelphia, so if any of you PA climbers know anything, contact me! 8^)

he was checking out a pair of new high tops, before warming up on Generic Crack. had a crew of students with him to work on the trails the whole week. played Jimmy Buffet on his guitar and was sipping on "grapefruit juice" the first night we met him at the campfire out at Bridger Jacks. fun fun times
