Hey, I will soon be working a field job next to Lamoille canyon, so I'll be camping right next to the place for a while. I'm desperately trying to get the Lamoille Canyon guidebook, but every place online won't let me buy it and the retailers in Salt Lake City (where I am now) don't believe it exists.
Any info regarding that book or general Lamoille Canyon climbing would downright make my day....
Thanks- Sam

It exists...'cause I have a copy. I think BD or IME might have it? Have seen it in town.

Also, I bought mine from the author.

Try emailing them if you can't purchase. Got mine pretty fast.

i got my copy of the guidebook at IME in salt lake city.

you will have a hard time finding partners in elko - i have spent a lot of time there over the years, and i was never able to find local partners.

the climbing is reasonably good, and the development potential is amazing. be prepared for heinous bushwhacking to get to a lot of the crags, and there are loads of ticks. i've only done a few of the bolted lines on a prominent slab with a large overhanging headwall above it - the routes end at the top of the slab. don't remember the name.

Go to the web site killerclimbs.com and you will get the information on how to order a copy from "Psycho Bob"; the Lamoille Canyon guide is on sale for $9.99. There are also some photos on the web site. Hope this helps. Jim

Hey I live about 2 hours away from Lamoille and can lend some info on contacts to go climbing with. There are quite a few climbers in Elko and the canyon is usually busy on any sunny day. Stop in at Cedar Creek Clothing and ask for Dwayne, he's the owner and knows most of the climbers locally. Another place to check for climbers is Tonabo Vet service located in the area of the Les Schwab tire store. Anyway, tons of climbers, keep an eye out for the flood watch up there this spring.

climb with Christ,

Er, after 7 years I think the OP has either found a partner or moved on. But others may find your availability helpful!
