The best way I know, it to mount the hangboard on another piece of wood, which you then screw into the wall. It does leave a few holes, but less than if you were to screw it straight on. If the backing wood is larger than your hangboard, it also protects the surrounding wall from getting damaged.

Maybe there is an exposed beam you could lash it to? On the outside of your barracks perhaps? Or, do you have an exercise area where you might get permission to mount it?
