It is found in Diet Coke and Many other Suger free products The thing about Aspartine is that it can cause M.S and Lymphatic (Something). Still not good and I think that every one should know about it. I would Like to give you all the information that I have been given But I do not have the documents to scan in. I will try and get hold of then and e-mail then to any one that is interested. Then thing that got me was that this suger free addertive is most harmfull to those with DIABETES. Right on!! We live in a world filled by sugar and other "unwholy" foods. Its about time we all take a look at our eating habbits! since most of the foods eaten are all processed and filled with articifial crap any who! If any of you want to read a great book on this subject, check out "Sugar Blues" Its by William Dufty.

What implications could this have on climbers and their performance? A lot of people like to have a sugar fix or caffeine fix before climbing, do you think this is bad in the long run?

Indulging in that sugar fix before a climb can really only do your body harm. Your body has to work really hard to break down that refined sugar and that takes away from energy that could be used hitting the rock. Ideally, before you climb, you have a few bites of a whole grain power bar that has protein in it as well. This will be released SLOWLY into your blood stream, helping to avaid that crash when you need the energy most.

i think its fair enough that everyone has to watch what they eat and have a balanced diet, but if everyone starts getting parnoid about the food we eat youll end up being more stressed and worried about if ur eating healthy food. Plus if ur worried about not getting a sugar rush when u stop eating bad stuff, try a bit of trail mix or some fruit.thats my 2 cents on the subject
