I thought you'd like that one Adam
My turn to chime in We had a FANTASTIC time out there this weekend!
As was said before, Saturday was spent at Malibu Creek for some ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL overhanging sport climbing. And congrats on your 12d (?)!! (Even with the rectal dislocation ) Saturday night was much needed relaxation in the spa with beer and pizza followed up by some drunken slacklining. What a sight!
Sunday was an attempt at Williamson, but after the a**kicking that Adam provided for us at MC, the approach proved too much for my knees. Had a wonderful day with Ivan watching bikers and having lunch on the restaurant patio, then napping in the shade before we came back to pick up Heath and say goodbye to the group.
rrrAdam Again..thank you so much for your hospitality. But most of all, thank you for pushing me . For all of you who don't know, I had some pretty severe injuries last year that ended up in 2 knee reconstructions. I have been climbing my little booty off since I've been off crutches, but my confidence has been shot on lead. I freeze up and forget how to climb. Adam took me out there this weekend took one look at a climb and told me to lead it. "You can do this climb". As I was preparing for my usual "not yet", I looked at the climb and realized that I COULD do it. I grabbed the sharp end and up I went . I thought about it later, and realized that it was also the hardest thing I had ever lead (grade-wise). Someone else had told me this and I found it to be true as well. "I like climbing with Adam because he pushes me just enough. Enough that I climb harder than I would have, but not beyond my ability." For my first lead in over a year, I thank you Adam! Oh, and thanks for leading all of the truly hard stuff so the rest of us could taste greatness
i.karen thank you so much for letting us all stay at your home! You and Adam went out of your way to show us a good time and make us feel at home. Besides that, I am really glad I got the chance to get to know you better. I usually have trouble finding females that I can truly respect and get a long with and in you I found a good friend! Please let us return the favor by hosting you two in AZ
fiend My dear friend As always, it was a pleasure to interact with you and I am so glad we got a chance to really talk face to face. My PM says much more...as far as the climbing abilities, I had no idea, Mark! You cruised the crux of that 11b after injuring your knee and being sick like it wasn't no thang! Can't wait until you can come out and climb with us in AZ! You are welcome anytime, brother!
