Chalk Vs Trash

I was wondering what people hate seeing more, trash at the crag or chalk. I know in Alaska there is very little chalk but people party and leave trash at the climbing areas. I hate trash but use lots of chalk. Wondering how others felt in areas where chalk is a big issue.

:x Trash by far is worse... but I also hate visiting a crag where the holds are coated in a layer of chalk residue so thick that it makes the holds slimy, for example the cliffs abouve morrison, colorado.

trash is definetly worse, chalk, I dont care unless its turned to that slipper hard layer, cigarette butts is the worst though as people just throw them down, thats the only real trash I ever see, try to clean them up though when I am out and about

Cigarette butts are the worst everywhere. Like they say you pack it in you pack it out.

I agree with Sawtooth trash is a bad problem. It hasn't really been bad where I've been climbing (or I haven't noticed it yet). Trash is the most stupid thing you can come across in the outdoors. It's everywhere and there is no excuse. When I have a trash bag with me for lunch or something and there's trash right by me and if it's not totally disgusting I'll throw it in the bag. What ever you can do to help go for it. A little bit can go far.

The crag I frequent is used as a picnic/make-out spot at the top, so there's always trash at the bottom. It's just frustrating to see the lack of respect people have for nature.
