I just got myself a new bivy sack with a one way zipper and was thinking about making a hole at the zipper end where there is a flap covering it from the rain. I guess I would stick a nut-wire throught the hole when tying in for a bivy.
Has any of you tips for doing this or something similar?

Btw. it's a Millet Cyrano II GTX

On the few occasions that I've had to be tie in while in my bivi sack I never found it to be a problem to have the rope/ cord running out off the top of the sack. You could argue that this would unable you to completely close your sack up when bad weather would role in. To this I say, what's worse? Having a hole big enough buy your face to have a rope pass through -which you'll want to have anyway regardless of what the weather's doing-, or a hole buy your waist that would allow water and snow to get in as it will be lower to the ground?
My advice. Leave well enough alone.

I've tried the rope thing, but when it rains the rope sucks water in and you end up with a soaked sleeping bag. This happen to me on Frendo Spur, not very funny!
