History of the earth sine the Dinosaurs

Think of Earths Living history since the dinosaurs as a 12 month calendar year:

12 months ago Dinosaurs ruled the world

8 Months ago mammals evolved and appeared

4 months ago man first crept out of his cave and readied a stone tool.

20 minutes ago the roman empire fell

90 seconds ago the Industrial Revolution began

1 Minute ago man struggled to harness the forces of nature

20 seconds ago global communication made its debut

5 seconds ago man landed on the moon

So taking 1 year ago as the reign of the dinosaurs, modern day humans have thrived in central Europe for roughly 1 hour…. Just goes to show you how briefly we have existed on the planet… and how quickly we can screw it up.

Or.... According to Stephen Hawking (a pretty smart guy I'd say) if you look at the time since the earth's creation (about 4.5 billion years ago) to today as a year, humans start at about Dec. 31, 11:59:30 PM. recorded history (about 6,000 years ago) starts at 11:59:59 PM. Not a whole lot of time.

Humans will become extint. Who cares if it's in 5 years, 500 years, or 5 millon years. It's going to happen and what ever little thing you did in hope to save us will be lost. Were all going to die to...

You spend 1/3 of your life sleeping, 1/3 at work or school.

We only live 1/3 of our life.

How does that make you feel?

Now I'm pretty bad at math, but that leaves me, like, only 1/10000 sec. left to climb. Dude! This sucks!

Of course, then I only have 1/1000000 sec. left at work today ... sweeeet.

why would we become extinct? we have the technology to start a colonization on the moon if we wanted... we have the ability to make oxygen, food and such.. hell, ice has been confirmed to exist on mars... so that’s another base you will see in the future... Japan is even starting up a mars colonization project....

yeah we will ruin the earth pretty quickly, but change comes slowly… soon we will have no natural gas left, no oil… forests will dwindle so we will be forced to use alternatives…. Think about it we really don’t NEED wood right now.. it’s just more convenient…

plus… find a job you love… and enjoy life. Life doesn’t even start until your out of school

that is to say that humanity is doomed but not nessasarilly the human race. Humanity is in itself a exersize in wasteing time (ie: eat, sleep, work) so as long a a select few humans survive than a new super race of people will evolve. We Must find the select few and capture them!!!! we will alow them to drink copious amounts of liqure and fornicate in cave where they are safe from the aliens!!!!!!!! Than when we are sure that our select few (obviously not scientists or profecionals they screwed the world up first)are safe frome the alien invasion we will release them into our elabourate undergound cave system where they will drink and fornicate until HUMANITY LIVES AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha
NONE SHALL STAND IN OUR WAY!!!!!!! WITH OUR RACE OF SUPER ALCHOHOLICS WE WILL RULE THE EARTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

or something like that
Mike

No, it's gonna be some virus like Ebola that can kill 9/10 people who get it, it's going to travel out of Africa by people on planes and will reach every major city within days, leaving nothing but death and destruction in it's path. Soon, only like 20% or less of the population of earth will be left. Sorry, I couldn't help it, I'm reading The Hot Zone (all about those dangerous viruses) for school.

According to CNN and a spokesman for the Turban-ed Terror, it is more likely to be hard to detect chemical agents, biological contaminants and attacks against nuclear facilities followed by slow painful death.

The downfall of the human race as described in Vonnegut's "Gapalagos" is interesting... (one of my favorite books.)

An extrememly contagious virus that feeds on human eggs spreads throughout the world, effectively rendering all (or most) females sterile. Humans died out entirely within a few generations. It makes me think... that's not too far-fetched... weird stuff.

I bet the dinosaurs thought they were the shiznit and would never go extinct before they got blasted away by a huge meteorite impact... There will come a day when the planet is void of humans. It was like that before we came, and it'll be that way once again - it's called biology and the cycle of life. Mass extinctions occur every so often so that other forms of life have a chance to flourish. We've had our time here, and in a few million more years that time will be up.
