:D Hi, I'm a swiss climber (Alps...) coming to Chicago for a few days. I'd like very much to meet some climbers there who would agree to introduce me to their spots or climbing halls in Chicago, to climb once or twice. Of cours I'd be happy to return the favour if you decide to come for a trip in Switzerland (kind of Rockclimbing paradize...), showing you some interesting and/or beautifuls spots (bouldering, long roads, ...). I'm a 5.10b/c climber (which means about 6a/b) and I'll be in Chicago in the very beginning of July. Hope to get an answer See you Cecile

as i mentioned in another thread, spend your time in other ways. there are no really good gyms in the city proper and IMO the only decent gym is way out of town (VE) and not exacly a destination anyways. chicago is an excelent city for touring, eating, visiting some mueseums and checking out the architecture which is beyond world class. you will get much more out of your short time here by taking in the city than you ever would visiting our climbing gyms (as they are nothing special) or climbing outdoors (as mediocre climbing begins about 2.5 hours away). i especially recomend the Shedd aquarium. another good trick is to skip out on the hancock buildings observatory and instead go have a drink in the hancocks bar. the view is just as breathtaking, except you can have a beer for $6.00 instead of nothing for $12.00.
