What do you guys use to secure your chalk bag to your harness? i have a Petzl Calidris and the slot on the back is too small to fit a regular biner through....any suggestions?

My girlfriend has a Calidris and she fashioned a loop out of 5mm cord that goes between the padding and the webbing where the leg loops attach. She usually clips her shoes or a haul line here but I'm sure it would work for a chalkbag.

I don't secure it to the harness, because it doesn't rotate as well. I just took about 25 feet of utility cord and wove it into a belt. That way If I can't reach the bag I can pull it to either side and get a better handle on it.

I have a little belt thingy made out of cordelette that i use. it works great cuz it is thin and doesn't get in the way, makes the chalk more centered then if you clipped it to say a gear loop on your harness...and alows you to move it to the front or side of something if you need to as orngave stated...

use a 1m strap arround your waste that you can also use in an emergency or if you need to set a top where there's only bolts on the wall.

Prana, Singing Rock, (er... I think that's the name...) and probably other companies sell chalkbag belts fairly cheap. I've got one that I bought at EMS for a couple bucks, has a little buckle and whatnot. It works well, and if you're ever stuck without a belt for your pants it does the trick (nothing like multi-purpose items.)

Although he still hasn't figured out how to push the caps lock button, I agree with Gawd. Spend a buck or two on cordlette. I wouldn't use it as a back up, but if needed you can bail off it. It's less expensive than buying a name brand belt, the knot is more comfy and adjustable than a buckle, and useful in more situations.

yeah, tie it on with a really long shoelace or something cheap like that. mine came with a belt thing then you can wear it bouldering as well.

I have a Misty belt that also bar tacked loops at the ends so it can be used as a runner.

in addition to all these suggestions, you could clip it to one of your regular gear loops, if you've got room there. some people just like having it at their side so they don't have to reach behind their backs...
