the anchor MAY not be safe!
last saturday (26 June 05), when i was lowering off this route, the anchor made this horrible squeeking noise. i'm not sure wether it was one of the anchor the bolts or the carabiner that was making the noise, and i didn't hang around to find out. anyway, i abseiled off one of the bolts halfway down just to make sure. my belayer said that the rope 'felt funny' when he was lowering me.
has anyone else experience this, can someone else confirm it? once we've confirmed the problem, we can take action to set things right.
