Do you wear socks in your climbing shoes? Why (not)? I always wear socks, because it's more comfortable and they absorb the sweat better than rock shoes.

No, I like my rock shoes to fit as snug as possible, this means no socks. In fact my rock shoes are 2 sizes smaller than my normal shoe size ( a women's 6 ). It makes my toes curve, but not curve under. It was a little painful but now its just uncomfortable enough to keep me on my toes.

If I wore socks, they might not smell like a dead racoon all the time, but they wouldn't have the correct fit this way. Socks no goodie.

I wear biking sox. They are ultra thin so you still get a super snug fit from your shoe, but they wick away sweat and help avoid the dead raccooon stench.

it's mostly a fit thing, I CAN wear socks with my shoes, however regular cotton socks make them just that little bit tighter and it becomes uncomfortable, just a matter of comfort I must say, they're not going to add or take from your sensitivity unless you have a very soft shoe. I have yet to try bike socks just take good care of your shoes when you're not climbing from the very moment you get them, use talcum powder with a fungicide and they shouldn't be a dead racoon problem

I wear biking socks. They are called Air-E-Ators. They are super thin and breathable. They make for a nice, secure fit, better smelling shoes and feet, and in the winter, they help to take the edge off of the biting cold.

No socks. I lose all feeling so I cant really climb, plus I dont create that bond between foot and shoe. Kinda like deleting the middle man.

I have Worn socks before but then I tried with none, and it felt awesome. If you dont think they help with sensitivity, then you probably do not have tight enough shoes, maybe not though. What works for you keep doing it, I think things like this are pretty psychological.

If I had the room, I might wear them on cold days... but I have the 5.10 dragons. If any one else out there has them, you know what I'm talking about.

wearing sock i would think give a layer between your foot and your shoes causing a loss of sensativity you cant feel as much also having that layer in there could cause your shoe to rotate around on your foot so i would say on most occasions not to wear socks

BIKING SOCKS are the best thing in the world. They are ultra thin, usually made from nylon, so your tight shoes still fit, you can't feel them on so you don't loose any feeling like you would with a typical wool or cotton sock, and you don't get shoe rotation either, they eliminate blisters, and absorb sweat so your shoes don't stink of road kill. Two great brands are Air-E-Ators and De-Feet All the benefits and none of the draw-backs of standard socks. I think DeFeet makes the Air-E-Ators. Maybe not. Either way, you're right, they are sweet. I mentioned them above. Also, in addition to their great properties of wear, etc., They have funky graphics, most look pretty cool. AW
