I'm new to NYC and haven't been able to hit the rock since last summer. My weekends have been pretty chill, so I'd like to at least hit the bouldering areas in CP. I haven't been able to find much of a comprehensive guide yet though. I know the first issue of urban climbing mag had a story on NYC, is it worth the $10 price for the back issue? I realize that CP isn't the end all and be all, but I'm in NYC with no car and want to climb. Yes, I realize the gunks are close, but I can't get there easily at the moment and don't have enough of a handle on my work schedule to plan a trip yet. I just need a fix.

There used to be a link on the ClimbNYC.com board to a PDF of the "guidebook" for the Central Park boulders, but it doesn't seem to exist any more. Might want to post in the Bouldering forum on that site with a request for a copy. T

Thanks, just got it. It doesn't have any topos though, so I'd still be interested in other sources.

Again, there used to be some stuff up in the Bouldering section - that wasn't officially part of the site - but I don't know if it's still there. Someone had gone and taken a bunch of pictures, then put in the routes. Since you have the descriptions, though, you should just check them out. :) T

If anyone has a good route map with descriptions for rat rock and cat rock please let me know! Or e-mail it to me at rebecca@fotocare.com. Much appreciated.
