I didn't quite know how to add to the description for the gym. I put this location on the page, but wanted you to know that you either have to an military I.D. card, be escorted by someone who does, or call the ORC and set a group or work something out to use the facilities. They don't have the best hours (4pm to 7pm on tues. and thurs., & 9am to 12pm(I think) on Sat.) If you can get on base, it sure beats the heat on a hot day in SC. The wall has a rock like feel and look. It is 30' at it's highest point, but the regulars there have put up some sick boulder routes.

a great wall. has tons of climbing and bouldering routes. you must try the "numbers" bouldering route if you go, it's a challenge! this is my local wall, they do have crappy hours, but most of the regulars come on tues and thurs, when they're open until 7 pm. sure beats the heat climbing indoors! wall has good natural feel to it. climbing and rental fees are reasonable if not on the low side, which is always good. i will take a picture and post it next time i go. you do need a military ID or be with someone who has one in order to get on base. if you're in the area and want to try it out but can't get on base, send me an email and i'm sure we'll be able to set up a time to go. see you there!

Hey you said if anyone interested in climbing on base you would try and get something worked out. I was in the navy for 5 years and have climbed at James Island County park but like you said summer coming its going to get really hot out there to do any climbing. Let me know if we can work something out to get me on base. I do have a Dept. of Veterans ID as a disabled vet.
