Looks like all you South Platte climbers can dig out your tape gloves and go to town. Here's a bit from the Denver Post: Denver Post Outdoor Editor Thursday, July 18, 2002 - The long rest is over for the trout of the South Platte River. Beginning at sunrise Friday, anglers may return to the popular river corridor in the Deckers area, ending a fire-related U.S. Forest Service prohibition in effect since June 10. The reopening also will include the North Fork of the Platte, along with tributaries not directly effected by the Hayman fire. The forest agency, along with the Bureau of Land Management, announced a general reopening of the Pike National Forest and surrounding public lands to public access. The area remains under Stage II fire restrictions, which means no open fires will be allowed.
