Okay, so I'm a guy and I want to know what girls think and the relations between men and women - especially when one approaches the other to climb with. Through reading posts in the Ladies Room I found out that my behavior actually fits the behavior of a lot of guys who assume falsely some things that girls think - e.g., a girl asked me to climb, I took it as a possibility of her wanting to know "me" better when all she does is want to climb. So what I want know is is why some think guys are flamers for checking out the Ladies Room or why some guys preface a post with "I don't frequent the Ladies Room often but....." Is it some insecurity about certain guys or do they have legit reasons. If so stating them would be awesome. I understand frequenting the L.Room should only be done in moderation and excess would degenerate any man into a mollycoddle but...hmmm... I won't ramble on....

For starters, are you utilizing the word "flaming" to describe effeminate male homosexuality, or predominately-heterosexual male insensitivity?

uhhh.....I thought it mean only the former "effeminate male homo" - but then again I live in San Franisco (on Castro even shiiite) so maybe there's another meaning I'm not aware of???

Well, on this site flaming can mean several things. But since we've got that cleared up, why would you be insecure about your "flame quotient" if you're reading/posting in the ladies' room for purposes of better understanding women, in order to improve your dating life? Plenty of happy heterosexual men read Cosmo or find other means of aquiring "girls only" material; if anything, I think it's a step in the right direction. Have no shame in reading what is said in the ladies' room with positive intentions... but don't be scarred for life if you occasionally come across more information than you necessarily wanted to hear. :)

Ya know, I posted this topic because I want to stimulate the replies of some hoping to find out their views of just when it is that the behavior of guys would become "excessive" - e.g., feeling an excess of emotion from getting dumped, which turns some guys mawkish when they lack any mental fortitude or whatever similar circumstance. Or on the distinction (though vague) on the gross use of the L.Room forum and "okay" purposes. I thought that the subject/post might even make innings for jokes and so on but I think it's becoming a bit to "brainy" and just not fun - either to read or to post. Oh yea, if future posts are made it would be nice if we didn't analyse my behavior or advise on it, though I think it's nice to be given advice and am not offended by the previous post. Thank you. Um, I wouldn't worry about your sexuality unless you've recently boinked another guy. Does it really matter?

I must say, the ladies' room is probably much more informative than any piece of mere "women's' periodical literature" could ever hope to be.

In reply to: I thought that the subject/post might even make innings for jokes and so on but I think it's becoming a bit to "brainy" and just not fun - either to read or to post. What distinguishes the ladies room from the rest of the site is that we respond to each other a)with support for the different levels and phases of climbing and life, b)rather than pretend we were never at that level or phase, c)or in hopes that someday we will be their and someone will support us. The guys who come in have an honest question about girls or are tired of being beat over their words. But if brains make you queasy don't read farther, we get pretty detailed about some pretty basic stuff. It may make you sick. Oh sorry, about your original question. I really don't think any of us can give you a satisfactory answer. I think to many of us would answer it differently.
